As the Associate Director of the Office of Transfer Student Success, I have the privilege of serving with a brilliant team of professionals dedicated to the success of students who have transferred to the University of South Florida. We strive to provide key information to students who plan to transfer to USF, ensure a smooth transition for newly enrolled students, create opportunities for engagement and access, provide strategic and intentional support to students facing challenges, and connect students with campus resources. It is my personal belief that with the right support and resources, every student can succeed!
As a native of Antigua, West Indies and having grown up in St. Croix, Virgin Islands, I understand the challenge of transitioning to a very different cultural experience. My biggest transition was when my family moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana where I completed high school. Having the support of my family and some impactful teachers were pivotal to my success. I then attended Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri and earned a Bachelor and Master of Arts in Psychology. Later in life, I earned a Doctoral degree (PhD) in Counselor Education and Supervision at USF. I am also a Certified Program Evaluator.
As an experienced trainer and consultant, my areas of expertise include cultural competence, social justice, teamwork, effective communication, interpersonal relationships, and a variety of counseling specific topics. As an adjunct faculty member at Hillsborough Community College for over 15 years, I taught various courses in Psychology, Counseling and Human Services. I enjoy providing students with the space to gain insight into their own beliefs and behaviors while listening to and learning from others.
I welcome the opportunity to spend some time getting to know each of you. Together, we will determine what experiences at USF will be most beneficial to your success. I look forward to celebrating your accomplishments as you achieve your academic goals.
