Maintenance and Utility Services
Utilities
The Utilities Unit maintains and operates utility systems and plants in support of the University community. This includes the maintenance of many miles of water and electrical distribution systems including electric, chilled water, hot water, sewage, storm, wastewater, and domestic water. The Utilities unit operates three chiller plants and a boiler plant that generate chilled and hot water for more than 5 million square feet of conditioned space across the Tampa campus. USF produces its drinking water from wells on the property and serves more than 46,000 people.
