Mission, Vision and Goals
Mission
The mission of Alianza Latina Faculty and Staff Association shall be to foster an environment of mutual support, community, advocacy and respect for Latinx/a/o, Latin American, or Hispanic identified faculty, staff and students at the University of South Florida. The organization will promote recruitment, retention, professional development, and the advancement of Latinx/a/o employees at the university, thereby, upholding USF's strategic initiatives.
Vision
Alianza Latina Faculty and Staff Association will serve as the platform for participatory advocacy that leads to their/our transformational development and access to university resources resulting in increased representation and value of our community. Alianza Latina will be a dynamic space of solidarity and celebration of our diverse cultures and experiences as Latinx/a/o, Latin American, or Hispanic faculty and staff.
Goals
- To create community among the Latinx/a/o, Latin American, or Hispanic identified faculty and staff at USF.
- To amplify, celebrate and recognize the diversity and richness of experiences within the Latinx/a/o, Latin American, or Hispanic identified Faculty & Staff community.
- To create viable and active channels of communication with USF administration, peer organizations, communities and allies among the One USF service areas and each other.
- To advocate for faculty and staff equity and representation as it relates to salary, position, treatment, recruitment, and retention.
- To provide professional and career development and support for Latinx/a/o, Latin American, or Hispanic identified faculty and staff.
- To support Latinx/a/o, Latin American, or Hispanic identified students by amplifying current resources and creating mentorship opportunities to support their continued development and success.
- To support and collaborate with peer organizations and communities at USF including, but not limited to, the Black Faculty and Staff Association, and Committee on Issues of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity, to name a few.
