How to Apply
To apply to any of our graduate programs Apply online, and use your credit card to pay the $30 application fee. Our Department is unable to waive the $30.00 application fee.
Official transcripts should be mailed in a sealed envelope from each post-secondary
institution you have attended (excluding USF) directly to the Office of Admissions.

For USF general or program specific admission requirements
GRE admission requirements are waived for applications received after July 2020.

- 3 Letters of recommendation. Letters must be signed and on letterhead and uploaded as a pdf to your application. Emails with links will be sent directly to recommenders.
- Transcripts. Unoffical transcripts accepted for review process.

personal statement (Essay)
A short statement stating your intended field of research and professional goals. Please indicate your specific research interests. In your statement please list 2-3 biology faculty members who you would like to have review your file. Faculty bios are listed under the research section of the Department website. Acceptance into the biology graduate program requires the identification of specific faculty who are willing to direct your research. Applicants are therefore encouraged to get in contact with faculty they would like to conduct research with. Applicants are required to submit documentation via the on-line application process.
Graduate Assistantships
For full consideration for a graduate assistantship, the deadline for application to the Integrative Biology Graduate Program is November 30, for Fall admission. Applications will be accepted on a contingency basis until the USF Graduate School deadline in February, but please be aware that assistantships may have been offered to earlier applicants.
To be eligible for a Teaching Assistantship as an international student, a minimum overall TOEFL iBT score of 79 and minimum TOEFL Speaking score of 26 is required.
