Scholarships & Awards

Randhawa Family Research Scholarship

A $1000 scholarship is available to undergraduate students who are pursuing a major in Molecular Biosciences Department. The scholarship is for one semester.

Preferences are based on the following:

1. Merit.  USF uses state-defined GPA requirements for merit-based aid (GPA of at least 3.0). 
2. Student with a principal investigator who is research active, and with available funds to support the research. 
3. Student with a host lab identified.
4. Pre-medical student.
 
Application Process: 

1. Send one complete pdf application package that contains the following components:

  1. Title Page: Your name, degree, expected graduation year.
  2. Transcript.
  3. Resume.
  4. Research statement that includes your identified host lab and proposed research project and the contact information of your proposed principal investigator.
  5. Medical career personal statement.
  6. Statement of how this scholarship would benefit your academic career.

2. Arrange for a Letter of Support from your proposed Research Supervisor by deadline to be sent to the individual below.

 Deadline for application:

1. No later than October 25th, 2024

MBS ANNual honors awards

MBS Honors will be awarded in the following categories:

  • CBO Student Excellence Award
  • MIC Student Excellence Award
  • Outstanding Student Award (out of all the MBS Majors)
  • Outstanding Undergraduate Research Award (CAM/CBO or MIC major)
  • Volunteerism Award (references are requested)
  • Special Award (e.g., First member of family to go to college or other special circumstances)

**Awards will be reviewed and decided by the MBS Undergraduate Program Committee. 

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of GPA 3.5
  2. Applied for Fall 2023 graduation
  3. Students can be nominated by themselves, by student peers, or by faculty
