PLANT DONATIONS
Plant donation policy
We gladly accept donations, but due to our limited space and resources, we are only able to accept certain plants on a case-by-case basis. Please email the gardens regarding plant donations prior to donating. Be sure to include the species you are looking to donate, include cultivar name if applicable, include photos, and origin and age if known. We ask that visitors do not bring plants to the gardens without prior approval, this helps to reduce the transmission of plant pests and pathogens.
If a plant donation is accepted, we just ask that a form is completed with your name, address, contact number, and email. Should for example, an invasive pest be detected on the donated material, this information helps the FL Dept. of Agriculture trace the trail of said pests.
Whether or not we can accept a plant donation is determined by the following factors:
- It must not be a listed invasive species. Resources identifying, and regarding laws
pertaining to movement of invasives can be found by following these two links. - Invasive Non-Native Plant Laws
- FNAI Invasive Plant Inventory
- If the species already exists within our collection, or if we have the space, need, and staff to care for it in our propagation or re-sale area.
- If the species fits a garden plan, fills a niche, and/or aligns with our mission.
OTHER DONATIONS
