Step 1
Accept Your Loans
- Login to Student Self-Service by clicking the tile on MyUSF
- Select ‘Financial Aid’
- Select the correct award year from the drop-down menu in the top right corner
- On the ‘Home’ tab, make sure you have read and accepted the ‘Financial Aid Terms and Conditions’.
- You MUST accept the Terms and Conditions before you can accept, decline or reduce
your loans
- Click the ‘Award Offer’ tab and scroll down to view your aid offer
- For each type of aid you are offered, there will be a link with more information about
your awards. Please review it carefully
- Review your awards and decide if you want to accept, reduce or decline them by using
the drop-down in the ‘Take Action’ column
- Once you’ve made your decisions, click the ‘Submit’ button and you’re done!
Step 2
New Borrowers: Complete Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note (MPN)
- Go to https://studentaid.gov and sign in using your FSA ID
- Complete the Entrance Counseling
- Complete and sign your Master Promissory Note

Complete the PLUS Loan Application & Master Promissory Note (MPN)
Step 1: Parents must:
- Go to https://studentaid.gov and sign in using your (Parent) FSA ID
- Click on ‘Request Direct PLUS Loan’ to complete the PLUS application
- If approved, click on ‘Complete MPN’, then your parent must sign the PLUS Master Promissory
Note using their (Parent) FSA ID
- Check Student Self-Service 5-10 business days after applying to accept your PLUS of the loan.
- If your PLUS loan application is denied, an extended unsubsidized loan will be automatically
awarded to your student
Step 2: Accept Your PLUS Loan
- Login to Student Self-Service by clicking the tile on MyUSF
- Select ‘Financial Aid’
- Select the correct award year from the drop-down menu in the top right corner
- On the ‘Home’ tab, make sure you have read and accepted the ‘Financial Aid Terms and Conditions’.

Before Your Federal Direct GradPLUS Loan will pay, you must:

Step 1: Complete the GradPLUS application, GradPLUS Entrance Counseling & GradPLUS
Master Promissory Note
- Go to https://studentaid.gov and sign in using your FSA ID
- Complete the GradPLUS application, GradPLUS Entrance Counseling and sign your GradPLUS
Master Promissory Note
- Check your awards in Student Self-Service 5-10 business days after applying to accept your GradPLUS loan if your application
is approved
