Bianca Cassouto graduated from PCGS in 2016 and soon after began working at The Everglades
Foundation, an environmental non-profit dedicated to protecting and restoring the
Everglades through science, advocacy, and education. She now works as the Education
Program Manager and manages teacher training and community partnerships across the
state of Florida. Bianca's higher education and career experiences focus on sustainability,
environmental education, and the relationship humans have with natural resources.
She graduated from the University of Florida with a B.A. in Geography Geosciences
and a minor in Environmental Studies; and received her M.A. in Global Sustainability
with a concentration in Sustainable Tourism from the University of South Florida.
Her decision to work in environmental education came from interning at local non-profits,
interning at the United Nations' World Tourism Organization, and traveling to different
parts of the world. She is driven to educate students, teachers, and others on the
importance of the Everglades and protecting South Florida’s drinking water supply.
Bianca‘s career interests include the availability and protection of water resources,
the impact of climate change, and sustainable development. Bianca is a Miami native
and enjoys traveling and reading.
Join us in congratulating our alumni, Emma Lawler, on her new job. Her new position
entitled, Florida Climate Pledge Campaign Manager, is with the Cleo Institute. Lawler
is a recent graduate of the PCGS Class of 2020. Her new position with the Cleo Institute
is a promotion from her original position as a Florida Climate Pledge Organizer. A
position in which she started in June. During her studies here, she was able to obtain
a certification in Climate Change and Sustainability. We are pleased to see another
alumni find their place in the sustainability field.
