Congratulations to our spring 2018 graduates

The Patel College of Global Sustainability is delighted to announce that 40 students will be graduating this spring semester. This will be the ninth PCGS graduating class. On behalf of the Patel College of Global Sustainability, we wish our graduating class of 2018 the best in their future endeavors! PCGS would like to share highlights of four of our graduating class-Marian Davidove, Morgan Eastman, Victor Rodriguez and Li Zhu.

Marian Davidove is originally from Cape Town, South Africa. When she came to Florida at the age of nineteen, she could not speak English. Nevertheless, she worked hard and will be graduating this semester with a 4.0 in her concentration in Food Sustainability and Security. She is one of the 20 students in the United States that has received the Practitioner and Trainer credential in Project Management for Sustainable Development.

Morgan Eastman is a native Floridian who grew up as a deaf person. She is determined to create a small business that prioritizes marine conservation and creates jobs to transform the movement of environmental justice to a more diverse workforce. Morgan will graduate with her Masters in Global Sustainability with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. Eastman made a name for herself while volunteering at the Florida Aquarium. Through her work, she helped implement an education program that involves K-12 students in a conversation about how to help protect our endangered species.

Victor Dario Rodriguez, from Argentina, is hoping to help implement sustainability practices to small businesses. His internship allowed him to work on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) sustainability in a private sector environment. Dario earned a Masters degree in Global Sustainability with a concentration in Energy. He was also selected to participate in the prestigious Summer Institute for Sustainability and Energy (SISE) at the University of Chicago.

Li Zhu, from China, embraced all the opportunities USF has to offer since he stepped foot on campus and became a role model and reliable mentor to classmates. Li will earn a Masters in Global Sustainability with concentrations in Food Security and Sustainable Tourism. His internship at Temple Terrace Farm to School, allows him to inspire and educate the younger generation about sustainability topics such as food waste and environmental conservation.
