Please join us in congratulating Dr. George Philippidis for his 10th publication of the year (2021). He and his team of Ph.D. students continue the effort to make PCGS a top research College in sustainable energy and products in the US and around the world. "The Sustainable Energy team of PCGS continues to publish its biofuels and bioproducts research findings in high-caliber peer-review publications." Dr. Philippidis further explains. "Its most recent publication is already the 10th of the year (2021) and appeared in the journal Bioresource Technology, a top journal in the field of sustainable bioenergy, bioproducts, and biotransformations. The paper is entitled "Deciphering metabolic alterations in algae cultivated in spent media as means for enhancing algal biorefinery sustainability". The research was conducted at the Biofuels & Bioproducts Lab directed by Dr. George Philippidis, PCGS Associate Dean for Research. Kudos to Dr. Philippidis' team members Dr. Neha Arora, postdoctoral fellow, and Ph.D. students Enlin Lo (chemical engineering), Magda Tsarpali (chemical engineering), and Jessica Martin (chemistry) for their contribution to establishing USF-PCGS as a global research leader in sustainable energy and products from algae, biomass, and oilseed crops with the support of Dean Parayil and the PCGS faculty and staff."
