New study shows vitamin C boosts DNA damage and cell death in melanoma cells
Researchers found that melanoma cells have more DNA damage and fewer antioxidant defenses compared to normal skin cells. When treated with hydrogen peroxide and vitamin C, melanoma cells showed even more DNA damage and higher cell death rates, while normal cells were protected.

History student Hannah Thieryung uses 3D scans to improve museum accessibility
With support from USF’s Access 3D Lab, Hannah Thieryung used scanning technology to digitize the May-Stringer House, a Victorian-era home in Brooksville. She focused on the historic building’s upper floors, helping guests experience them without needing to scale the narrow 19th-century staircases.
