Florida researchers present findings at Alzheimer's Association conference
Florida researchers are sharing findings that can help people better understand Alzheimer's disease and dementia at the Alzheimer's Association International Conference in San Diego this week. There are 32 experts from the state presenting a diverse body of research at the conference, including several from the University of South Florida in Tampa.
USF to launch new infection control resource center
The College of Public Health will partner with the CDC over the next five years to develop a multi-modal approach to deliver infection prevention and control education to emergency responders. The center will serve as a hub for recruitment, dissemination, referral and subject matter consultation.

USF PACT study looks to prevent dementia with brain games
PACT (Preventing Alzheimer’s with Cognitive Training) is a five-year clinical trial to investigate the effectiveness of cognitive training or brain games on the computer to delay cognitive decline in hopes that they prevent dementia.

USF St. Pete Studies Alzheimer’s and Blood Tests
St. Pete researchers may have found a way to prevent Alzheimer’s. Since 2019, The University of South Florida has been the main site of the Preventing Alzheimer’s with Cognitive Training (PACT) study. The study has one goal: Researchers hope to examine if computerized brain training can reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease in older adults who show no early signs of dementia.
