For Campus Partners
Progression Team
The Progression advocates are dedicated student success professionals who assist and support undergraduate students from their second year to graduation. They support state and institutional graduation goals and recognize that graduation is a holistic process that begins when a student enters the university.
Progression advocates have gained unique perspectives on the barriers that students encounter throughout their academic journey. The team is equipped to provide support to students with a range of barriers and utilize enhanced organizational and collaborative techniques to provide the best proactive support for student success.
University Initiatives
To align with Florida state metrics and support undergraduate students, USF launched a campus-wide Finish in Four initiative in 2017 to prioritize four-year graduation. The Office of Academic Advocacy (OAA) collaborates with multiple offices across campus and provides targeted outreach and support to first-time in college (FTIC) students with potential progression concerns to foster timely graduation. Due to unforeseen financial, academic, and/or personal challenges, some students require more than four years to meet graduation requirements. OAA works with these students to ensure they stay on track for graduation. The goal is for all FTIC students to complete graduation requirements within six years or less.
