Honors Foundations Program Drives First-Year Student Success

The Judy Genshaft Honors College Honors Foundations Program helps first-year students adjust to college life through peer mentorship, community-building, and academic support. Upperclassmen mentors guide students in navigating campus resources, forming connections, and developing essential skills for success.

Claire Kooy and Alvin Varghese Win 2024 Honors Grand Challenge Competition

First-year student Claire Kooy and third-year student Alvin Varghese have been named 2024 Judy Genshaft Honors College Salem Scholars for their innovative research addressing challenges faced by people with disabilities. Both students will present their work at a national undergraduate research conference in spring 2025.

From ballet to brain injury advocacy: Meet USF student and Miss Tampa Alexandra de Roos

After a concussion ended her dream of professional ballet, Alexandra de Roos enrolled at USF as a double major in biomedical sciences and psychology with the goal of becoming a neuropsychiatrist. She was also recently crowned Miss Tampa and plans to use her pulpit to promote brain trauma awareness.
