Just in time for the University of South Florida’s (USF) annual Homecoming festivities, Buddy Brew Coffee has created a new ‘Bulls Blend’ coffee, and marked the release
of the bold blend with a launch celebration at the company’s café in the Judy Genshaft
Honors College on USF’s Tampa campus.
Bulls Blend is a unique, proprietary blend created especially for USF. This fall,
Buddy Brew opened its ninth cafe in the new Honors building and the new blend was developed to reflect and commemorate the partnership. Fresh-roasted
at Buddy Brew’s Tampa roastery, the coffee is made in small batches, with tasting
notes of dark chocolate, citrus and creamy walnut.
“We’re very proud to see Bulls Blend served in our beautiful new Honors building on
the Tampa campus,” said Charles Adams, the Judy Genshaft Endowed Dean at the Judy
Genshaft Honors College. “Like USF and the Judy Genshaft Honors College, Bulls Blend
represents the best of the Tampa Bay region. It’s especially fitting to have a house
coffee to help fuel our Honors students’ late night study sessions!”
BREW GOOD, DO GOOD
Buddy Brew Coffee was founded more than a decade ago by Dave and Susan Ward with the
motto and mission: “Brew Good. Do Good.” According to the popular Tampa craft roaster,
the company only sources top specialty-grade coffees and pays higher prices so that
smallholder farmers can thrive.
For Bulls Blend, the coffee makers chose a mix of freshly harvested specialty grade
coffee beans sourced by Buddy Brew from smallholder farmers El Salvador and Ethiopia.
“We are so excited to share Bulls Blend with the USF campus community and beyond,”
said Buddy Brew co-owner/founder Susan Ward. “This ethically sourced specialty coffee
reflects our Brew Good, Do Good mission, as well as USF’s Honors’ reputation for excellence,
hard work and community service. We are thrilled with our partnership with USF and
can’t wait to see all we will do together while serving the students, faculty, staff
and alumni. Go Bulls!”
