What is the Climate Teach-In?

A teach-in is an informal, educational event that discusses a specific issue or cause, organized to raise awareness or prompt action on social, political, or environmental topics. Unlike traditional lectures, teach-ins are interactive and community-oriented, encouraging open discussion and participation from attendees.

How it Works

The USF Climate Teach-In is organized by the Climate Teach-In student organization in collaboration with student groups, faculty, and community partners across all three USF campuses. Designed and led by students, the event provides a platform for passionate peers to come together and drive meaningful social change.

This year, the Climate Teach-In E-Board has been working hard to make the event bigger and better than ever! With 40+ events planned, we can’t wait for you to be part of USF’s largest environmental event!

Make Climate a Class

USF faculty interested in contributing to climate solutions can join a faculty-led collaborative workshop to help identify actionable ways to integrate climate solutions into their classes. This document provides a general overview on how conversations about climate solutions might fit into different subject areas.

why it matters

Climate education and action are crucial because climate change affects every part of our lives — from health and food security to natural disasters and economic stability. Florida is particularly vulnerable, which makes it even more important to work together and protect our community.

There’s an opportunity for everyone to be involved in the USF Climate Teach-In, no matter your discipline or role. Every action counts, and every voice matters. Together we have the power to build a more resilient future. Join us in making this USF Climate Teach-In the best one yet!
