Research Facilities

Our diverse array of research facilities provides a comprehensive environment for interdisciplinary research across various fields.   • Access 3D Lab is the leading destination for research and training in advanced digital technologies. Leveraging cutting-edge 3D scanners and drones for advanced research, the lab preserves at-risk cultural heritage sites with lidar, revitalizes urban districts with augmented reality, and transforms early childhood education with 3D printing and virtual reality.

  • USF's Marine Environmental Chemistry Laboratory is a multi-group core analytical facility in the USF College of Marine Science Building. The stable-isotope (magnetic sector) and GC- and LC- (tandem-quadrupole) mass spectrometers housed in the MECLab support the research enterprise of faculty and students across the USF-system, local and state partners, and collaborators around the world.

  • The Nanotechnology Research & Education Center is a university-wide user fabrication and metrology center providing state-of-the-art equipment, professional support personnel and infrastructure to enable multidisciplinary research in nanomaterials and nanomanufacturing methods related to fundamental materials science, sensors, actuators, electronics, bio-systems, medical products, optics and integrated nanoscale systems.

  • The USF Center for Global Health and Inter-Disciplinary Resarch improves the health and lives of people afflicted by infectious diseases through the development of improved diagnostics, treatments and preventive mechanisms. 

  • The USF Diabetes and Endocrinology Center is one of only twenty TrialNet Type 1 Diabetes Clinical Research Centers worldwide, engaging in innovative and important global research in Type 1 Diabetes Prevention.

  • The Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR) provides high quality, objective expertise in the form of insightful research, comprehensive training and education, effective technical assistance and in-depth policy analysis that assists and supports transportation agencies, communities, policymakers, and the public.

USF Research Park

Located on the Tampa campus of the University of South Florida, the USF Research Park covers more than 112 acres at the heart of the USF community. The Research Park brings together world-class researchers, inventors and entrepreneurs eager to collaborate with a highly-trained, high-tech workforce. The USF Research Park is the centerpiece of USF's innovation enterprise, which sustains more than 4,000 public and private sector jobs and returns more than $71 million in tax revenue to local, state and federal coffers.
