Founded in 2014, the Institute for Advanced Discovery & Innovation comprises scientists and innovators from across the country, including senior research professors; industry professionals; members and Fellows of such prestigious organizations as the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), National Academy of Inventors (NAI), National Academy of Engineering (NAE), National Academy of Sciences (NAS), and National Academy of Medicine (NAM); recipients of the National Medal of Technology and Innovation, and inductees of the National Inventors Hall of Fame (NIHF).

IADI faculty offer guidance and collaborate in a wide range of areas, including materials science, engineering, education, technology transfer, entrepreneurship, and industry outreach and engagement, but they follow a single shared focus: impact. Using their knowledge and experience in the innovation arena, they work to impact USF faculty and leadership, USF students, and the greater community.
