Join the Meeting
There are two ways students can join their tutoring appointment on Teams:
- From the Accudemia Homepage:
Go to the “Upcoming Appointments” banner to view appointments, including tutor names, subjects, and the time until your session. Click the red “Join Now” button when it's available. - From Confirmation Email:
Open the confirmation email in the USF inbox. Find and click the “Join Meeting” link to access theTeams session.
Timing to Join the Meeting
- Within 30 minutes of an appointment, a red “Join Now” button providing the Teams meeting link will appear next to the tutor. If you join more than 10 minutes early, you'll see a message stating “Session has not started yet.”
- Wait until 10 minutes before your session, refresh the page, and then click “Join Session Now” to access your Teams meeting.
Tip: It is recommended that you join through your local Teams application for better user experience.
Log in Microsoft Teams
- Once Teams is open in the app or browser, adjust the meeting settings as needed.
- Click on “Join now” button to enter the “waiting room.”
- A message indicating the tutor is preparing will appear, and students will be admitted to the session at the scheduled time.
Tip: Students should make sure that their internet connection is stable, sit in a quiet place for better audio quality and interactions, and choose a virtual background if desired. Our tutors will encourage students to turn on their camera to enhance engagement during the session.
