Writing Studio
Write-a-Bull
The Write-a-Bull service provides students with asynchronous feedback on their writing projects. Students can submit up to 5 double-spaced pages of their work at a time and receive feedback from a writing tutor within 10 business days. This asynchronous tutoring service is geared toward semester or year long projects, as well as polishing final drafts, but is available at any stage of the writing process.
Similiarly to the synchronous appointments, students will retain authorship of their own work. Tutors will not do any direct writing, although they will leave comments to address things like organization, sentence structure, and clarity.
How Does Write-a-Bull Work?
- To ensure timely review, students should submit their work as a PDF document of no more than 5 pages (double-spaced) at any given time. If a document is longer than five pages, only the first 5 pages will be reviewed.
- If students would like to have more than 5 pages reviewed, they should submit multiple forms (i.e., for a 10-page paper, students need to submit two forms: one for pages 1-5 and one for pages 6-10).
- Feedback will be provided as comments made to documents. Tutors will not be making changes directly to the uploaded document.
- Each student can made up to 3 requests per week.
How to mAKE A Request
- All students who would like to try out this asynchronous feedback program should fill out this request form: Write-a-Bull Request via Qualtrics.
