New International Students
International Student Support
We look forward to welcoming you in-person and assisting you through out your journey at USF.
As your International Student Support (ISS) Team, we are here to support you through your pre-arrival requirements, which may include tasks related to immunizations, health insurance, housing, and orientation. Our aim is to help you resolve all these requirements, so that you can register for classes early and move-in to your on-campus housing accommodations without any problems.
When you arrive at USF, your International Student Support Team will also be instrumental in linking you to information and services on-campus and in the Tampa Bay area to help you adapt to the university environment and thrive as a student.
Your International Student Support Team currently includes the following staff members:
Janna Eveland: I will be leading the International Student Support Team and oversee intracultural programming. I conduct informational webinars involving your housing, arrival, and orientation requirements. I will also be assisting international students with any of their care, safety, as well as some policy and conduct-related issues during their time at USF.
My passions include: My family, all things Disney, puzzles, reading, learning about history, and having
fun!
Brian Goercke: I am the Team’s Program Coordinator and lead informational webinar sessions of the university’s immunization and insurance requirements. I will also be assisting international students with any of their care, safety, as well as some policy and conduct-related issues during their time at USF.
My passions include: My family, creative writing, reading literature and history, progressive rock music, learning about diverse cultures, meeting people from different countries, and collecting baseball cards!
Alex Iler: I am the Student Program Coordinator for engagement within International Student Support. My goal is to support students in every possible way, whether it is through providing life guidance, fostering a supportive community, or offering resources to help them navigate the challenges of higher education. In addition, I host fun events at the International Student Success Center and webinars for incoming students.
My passions include: Cheering for my hometown baseball team, the Tampa Bay Rays, enjoying roller coasters, exploring nature preserves, and connecting with new friends!
