GRE
Graduate Record Examinations (GRE)
The GRE is a general admissions test for many graduate programs, not specific to health. It does not include any science topics, or higher-level math. View more information about the GRE on the ETS website.
Who takes it
- Occupational Therapy Program Applicants
- Physical Therapy School Applicants
- Some Physician Assistant Program Applicants (tests vary between GRE & PA-CAT)
- Some Veterinary School Applicants (most programs have no test requirement)
What is on the exam (~3 hrs 45 mins)
- Analytical Writing- 60 minutes/ 2 topics (30 min)
- One Analyze an issue task and one Analyze an argument task
- Verbal Reasoning- 60 minutes/ 40 questions (2 sections of 20 questions each
- Summarize text, understand word meanings, relationships among words, draw conclusions, reason from incomplete data, etc.
- Quantitative Reasoning- 70 minutes/ 40 questions (2 sections of 20 questions each)
- Algebra
- Geometry
- Data Interpretation

Exhaust all your free resources available before paying for materials. You can find free study plans, sample tests, and 2 full-length practice tests through POWERPREP on the ETS website.
