Institutional Research Effectiveness & Assessment
Institutional Research Effectiveness & Assessment (IREA)
Identifying, Mitigating and Managing Risks
The mission of Institutional Research Effectiveness & Assessment (IREA) is to facilitate research excellence by identifying, mitigating and managing risks in order to realize operational efficiency. IREA works closely with Research Integrity & Compliance and Sponsored Research in the following areas:
Audits
Auditing has been and continues to be the most integral part of ensuring that USF
complies with the terms and conditions of all sponsored awards accepted by the institution.
Data Integrity
The Data Integrity team establishes and maintains the infrastructure needed for accurate
data analysis and reporting--including, designing data tools and implementing data
integrity procedures.
Data Use Agreements
Facilitate the issuance of Data Use Agreements (DUA) and ensure the responsible sharing
and transfer of research data between a provider institution and a recipient institution.
Investigate allegations of research misconduct—which is defined as fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism in proposing, performing, or reviewing research, or in reporting research results.
Protect digital information from cyber threats, ensure security of researchers and their work overseas, and train them on how to protect their work and comply with export control regulations.
Subcontracting & Subrecipient Monitoring
Evaluate subrecipient's risk of non-compliance with statutes, regulations and terms and conditions of the subaward to determine the appropriate level of monitoring needed.
