Ceren Kocak

Ceren Kocak refuses to let dreams remain dreams. For her, they are her to-do list.

The eldest daughter of a Turkish immigrant family, she is the first in her family to pursue higher education. Her father believes success is determined by effort. That mindset drives her academic achievements, leadership roles, and dedication to uplifting others.

Her journey to USF represents both personal achievement and a promise fulfilled to those who sacrificed for her future.

She brings a global perspective. She has lived in four countries and speaks three languages. In 2024, she studied abroad in Italy, where she prepared and served over 20 fine dining dishes each day as part of the culinary learning experience.

She sees leadership as creating opportunities for others while continually growing. She is president of the Tau Sigma National Honor Society. There she strengthened chapter engagement, appointed key leadership roles, and oversaw operations. One of her goals is creating a new service scholarship where members reflect on the impact and importance of giving back. The chapter just recruited 141 new members.

Her leadership extends beyond academics. She mentors USF transfer students through the Transfer Engagement and Achievement Program. She also is the professional development director for the Turkish Student Association. As a first-generation college student, she's in the Corporate Mentor Program within the Muma College of Business.

She describes herself as a bridge builder and a culture connector. Kocak’s journey reflects perseverance, cultural representation, and a commitment to empowering others. And she is just getting started.
